Treeline bus service a big hit

Ridership nearly triple of last year’s total

Valley Regional Transit’s (VRT) Treeline bus circulator broke ridership records during this year’s Treefort Music Fest. The buses, which provided free rides March 22–25, attracted 3,580 riders, nearly tripling last year’s total.

As part of VRT’s support of the festival, anyone with a Treefort wristband could ride any bus route for free. A record 343 people took advantage of that offer. The grand total of bus ridership associated with this year’s festival was 3,923 rides.

“We have no doubt the new location of the Main Stage to Julia Davis Park had a positive impact on ridership this year,” said Leslie Pedrosa, VRT Chief Operating Officer. “The distance between venues and the unusually cold weather also encouraged people to ride the bus. And we can’t forget about Bands on the Bus, people just love that!”

The two Treeline circulator buses each featured Treefort musical artists throughout the four nights of bus service, providing a second-chance venue for the artists and entertainment for passengers with “Bands on the Bus.”

Valley Regional Transit thanks the bands who volunteered their time on the Treeline buses, and Treefort Music Fest for booking them. You all made the experience special for our passengers. The bands include:

Athena Garza, Dust City Opera, Summer Like the Season, Aka Belle, Bart Budwig, The Heligoats, Michael Compton, Scout Gillett, Scott Knickerbocker, Hillfolk Noir, Bailey Allen Baker, Ashley Rose, Dusty & Stones, The Merrels, Ashley Young, Lee Penn Sky, IDYLTIME, Joe Sullivan, The Pine Hearts, Afrosonics, Lonesome Jetboat Ramblers, High Pine Whiskey Yell, and David Henry.
